BAJA, MEXICO TO DENVER COLORADO - TRAINING RIDE - 2013
Paul decided he needed a good base for his training this year of approximately 2000 miles. He had a spare 20 days in January and so planned to ride about 100 miles a day! He chose Baja as he had never been there before but had heard there was some good kite surfing to be found and was looking forward to some warmer weather! It didn't quite work out as he planned, missing out on the kite surfing and hitting cooler weather than he expected. The head wind also turned out to be a killer and he wasn't able to camp as often as he had hoped. However the hotels were cheap, the scenery great and the people fantastic, despite the lack of spoken English! " I always felt totally safe, even when camping by the side of the road - and met some great people!". This was the longest solo ride Paul has completed - a total of 1970 miles, before heavy snow literally stopped him in his tracks.
